SMS Notifications

SMS is a fast and convenient channel for sending payment-related notifications to customers. With high open rates and immediate delivery, SMS is ideal for concise, time-sensitive updates such as payment confirmations, status changes, and critical actions performed on a transaction (e.g., refunds, voids).

Prerequisites

Before SMS notifications can be sent, the following must be in place:

  1. Customer Phone Number -- The customer's phone number must be collected during payment transaction creation. To make the phone number field mandatory, contact the Ottu support team.

  3. Enable SMS Templates -- Merchants activate SMS notifications by selecting the corresponding checkboxes during payment transaction creation. Templates can be enabled for pre-payment, post-payment, or both, depending on the requirement.
